Sunny

Sunny was named for her bright disposition.  When we found her abandoned in a field and began to feed her daily, she would run up to us with a big smile and a very waggly tail. Pure sunshine!
Sunny was found in January of 2022 nursing 7 puppies in a field outside Oaxaca City. She has lived with her rescuer, Holly, since then. Sunny was very timid when she first came home with us, and was terrified of a collar, leash, and a bath, as well as most people.She has grown greatly in confidence over the last two years, and we now feel that with a patient, loving furever home, she will thrive! Her shy sweetness is very endearing (she likes to sneak up and give you quick kisses on your elbow or hand when you least expect it), and she tends to be a favorite of many people who come visit our pack.

Dog-friendly: Yes. It may take a few encounters for Sunny to warm up to other dogs, but once they are friends she loves to play (sometimes a bit rough, but she responds well to corrections).

Kid friendly: Sunny would do well with older kids, but little ones might scare her

Kennel-trained: Working on it!

Leash-walking: Working on it! Sunny takes daily pack walks off leash and is very good and coming when called and staying near. She needs more exposure to walks on the leash in urban environments.

Sunny

Sunny recibió su nombre por su carácter alegre. Cuando la encontramos abandonada en un campo y empezamos a alimentarla cada día, corría hacia nosotros con una gran sonrisa y la cola moviéndose sin parar. ¡Pura luz de sol!

Sunny fue encontrada en enero de 2022 amamantando a siete cachorros en un campo a las afueras de la ciudad de Oaxaca. Desde entonces ha vivido con su rescatista, Holly. Cuando llegó a casa por primera vez, era muy tímida y le aterraban el collar, la correa, el baño y la mayoría de las personas. En los últimos dos años ha ganado mucha confianza, y ahora creemos que, con un hogar definitivo lleno de paciencia y amor, ¡podrá florecer! Su dulzura tímida es muy encantadora (le gusta acercarse sigilosamente y darte besitos rápidos en el codo o la mano cuando menos lo esperas), y suele ser una de las favoritas de quienes visitan a nuestra manada.

Con otros perros: Sí. Puede necesitar algunos encuentros antes de sentirse cómoda con otros perros, pero una vez que son amigos, le encanta jugar (a veces un poco rudo, pero responde bien a las correcciones).

Con niños: Sunny se adaptaría bien a niños mayores, pero los más pequeños podrían asustarla.

Camina con correa: ¡Estamos trabajando en ello! Sunny sale a pasear a diario con la manada sin correa, y es muy buena para acudir cuando la llaman y mantenerse cerca. Necesita más práctica con paseos con correa en entornos urbanos.
