NutmeG
Nutmeg’s story is one of quiet resilience and gentle strength. For years, she survived in the median of a busy highway, watched over by our rescue partner Holly, who passed her every day on the way to work. It took three attempts, a little creativity, and a lot of patience to bring her to safety – not because she was unfriendly, but because she was scared. With the help of some calming meds and a caring friend, Nutmeg was finally scooped up and given the chance to start again.
Now in the comfort of foster care, Nutmeg is showing us exactly who she is: calm, affectionate, and incredibly grateful. She loves nothing more than being near her people, resting in a soft bed, and enjoying regular meals – simple things that she went without for too long.
Nutmeg does have some signs of her hard life – a limp from an old leg fracture that doesn’t need surgery, and a "cauliflower ear" that just needs easy, at-home cleaning every couple of weeks. But these small needs pale in comparison to what she offers: quiet companionship, unwavering trust, and a peaceful presence in your home.
She’s an older girl who asks for very little – a warm spot in the sun, someone to share her days with, and the stability she's always deserved. Nutmeg would thrive in a home with a garden or sunny patio, where she can potter about, sniff the air, and simply feel safe.
If you’re looking for a low-maintenance, loving companion with a heart full of gratitude, Nutmeg might just be your girl.
