Mitote
Mitote is a Náhuatl word meaning “gathering” or “celebration,” and we named her in honor of our reforestation day with Thread Caravan, after which we found her wandering completely alone across the 4 lane interstate road. Now Mitote is safe, recovering her strength, and slowly discovering the world around her.
She is still very young, so it’s difficult to know exactly what her personality will be like once she’s grown, but we can already tell that she is sweet, smart, playful, and just a little bit timid. She has the kind of shyness that makes her observant and receptive, and we think she will be a very adaptable and easygoing companion as she gains confidence.
She currently lives with five large dogs and has adapted beautifully to life with them. She has also met two cats. She definitely wants to play with them, but she is respectful of their space. We imagine she would also be well behaved with farm animals.
Mitote seems like the kind of dog who could be happy just about anywhere. She loves leashed adventures around Oaxaca City, and we’ve taken her on off-leash forest hikes where she happily stays close to her humans. We can imagine her thriving as a family dog, a companion for an older person, with a young person in a city, in a home with other dogs or cats, or even in a rural environment with other animals.
She will be medium-sized when fully grown, and although she’s still developing her personality, she’s already showing us what a special little dog she is: gentle, respectful, curious, and eager to learn.
Mitote has been dewormed and has received her first two vaccines and will be spayed soon. She is healthy and growing strong.
She is truly a wonderful little dog who deserves to grow up in a loving home filled with patience, companionship, and plenty of affection.

Mitote
Mitote es una palabra en náhuatl que significa “reunión” o “celebración”, y la nombramos así en honor a nuestro día de reforestación con Thread Caravan, después del cual la encontramos completamente sola, cruzando una carretera de cuatro carriles. Ahora Mitote está a salvo, recuperando fuerzas y descubriendo poco a poco el mundo que la rodea.
Todavía es muy pequeña, así que es difícil saber exactamente cómo será su personalidad cuando crezca, pero ya podemos ver que es dulce, inteligente, juguetona y un poquito tímida. Tiene ese tipo de timidez que la hace observadora y receptiva, y creemos que, a medida que gane confianza, será una compañera muy adaptable y tranquila.
Actualmente vive con cinco perros grandes y se ha adaptado maravillosamente a convivir con ellos. También ha conocido a dos gatos. Definitivamente tiene ganas de jugar con ellos, pero respeta su espacio. También creemos que podría convivir muy bien con animales de granja.
Mitote parece ser el tipo de perrita que podría ser feliz prácticamente en cualquier lugar. Le encantan las aventuras con correa por Oaxaca de Juárez, y también la hemos llevado a caminar sin correa por el bosque...
Será de tamaño mediano cuando esté totalmente crecida, y aunque todavía está desarrollando su personalidad, ya nos está mostrando lo especial que es: dulce, respetuosa, curiosa y con muchas ganas de aprender.
A Mitote ya la hemos desparasitado y ha recibido sus primeras dos vacunas, y pronto la esterilizaremos. Está sana y creciendo fuerte.
Es realmente una perrita maravillosa que merece crecer en un hogar cariñoso, lleno de paciencia, compañía y mucho afecto.
