Millie

Millie was found outside a friend’s house in San Andrés Huayápam, doing her best to care for a litter of seven hungry pups. She was clearly devoted to keeping them safe despite being out on the street.

We think Millie might be a mix of black lab and bully breed (with maybe a little seal thrown in for good measure). She’s incredibly loyal and sticks close by, whether she’s on or off the lead. She’s learning to enjoy affection, is picking up basic commands quickly, and will leap happily into the car as soon as the door opens.

She’s got a delightfully quirky side too – at mealtimes, she runs in happy circles, drooling with enthusiasm. It’s impossible not to smile. She’s currently in foster care with other dogs and cats and gets along beautifully with everyone.

It’s no secret that black dogs like Millie often get overlooked in adoption listings – a frustrating reality known as Black Dog Syndrome. But Millie has so much to offer the right person or family: she’s affectionate, adaptable, and ready to be someone’s loyal companion.

She’s around 2.5 years old (as of July 2025), spayed, dewormed and fully vaccinated – and ready for her own loving forever home.

Millie

Millie fue encontrada afuera de la casa de una amiga en San Andrés Huayápam, haciendo todo lo posible por cuidar a una camada de siete cachorros hambrientos. Estaba claramente dedicada a mantenerlos a salvo a pesar de vivir en la calle.

Creemos que Millie podría ser una mezcla de labrador negro y raza bully (quizá con un poco de “foca”). Es increíblemente leal y se mantiene siempre cerca, esté con correa o sin ella. Está aprendiendo a disfrutar del cariño, capta rápidamente las órdenes básicas y salta feliz al coche en cuanto se abre la puerta.

También tiene un lado encantadoramente peculiar: a la hora de la comida corre en círculos de felicidad, babeando de entusiasmo. Es imposible no sonreír. Actualmente está en un hogar temporal con otros perros y gatos, y se lleva de maravilla con todos.

No es ningún secreto que los perros negros como Millie suelen ser pasados por alto en las listas de adopción –una realidad frustrante conocida como el “Síndrome del Perro Negro”. Pero Millie tiene muchísimo que ofrecer a la persona o familia adecuada: es cariñosa, adaptable y está lista para ser una compañera leal.
