Meet Lua – the calm, clever girl with amber eyes that shine like the sun.

A group of concerned neighbors in San Felipe del Agua recently alerted us that this sweet girl was in need of support. She had shelter, food, and water, but has been spending her days alone for months after being passed around by various owners. We’re eager to turn that around now that we’ve been given the green light to responsibly re-home her!

One of our volunteers has been walking Lua, exposing her to new environments, and assessing her personality. She loves her new daily excursions and while she tugs a bit at first from excitement, overall she does very well on a leash and follows the commands of whoever is leading her.

Lua’s first bath was extremely promising! She is very trusting of humans and physical touch, and showed no signs of trauma or aggression. We think she’s a little feminist icon - she proudly marks her territory like the boys do – a girl who knows she can take up space and does so with confidence. We love her for it.

She loves belly rubs and despite her age, seems to enjoy playing with toys as well. She gets along well with other dogs although we’re still unsure about her temperament with cats.

Lua has been overlooked for too long. She’s gentle, affectionate, steady, and so ready to be someone’s loyal companion. If you’re looking for a mature, easy-going sweetheart, look no further.

Conoce a Lua – la niña tranquila e inteligente, con unos ojos ámbar que brillan como el sol.

Un grupo de vecinos preocupados en San Felipe del Agua nos avisó recientemente que esta dulce perrita necesitaba apoyo. Tenía refugio, comida y agua, pero llevaba meses pasando sus días completamente sola después de haber sido cambiada de dueño varias veces. Ahora que tenemos luz verde para reubicarla de manera responsable, estamos listos para darle una nueva oportunidad.

Una de nuestras voluntarias ha estado sacando a pasear a Lua, exponiéndola a nuevos entornos y evaluando su personalidad. Ella ama sus excursiones diarias; aunque a veces jale un poco al inicio por la emoción, en general camina muy bien con correa y sigue las indicaciones de quien la lleve.

¡Su primer baño fue muy prometedor! Es muy confiada con los humanos y el contacto físico, y no mostró ninguna señal de trauma ni agresión. Creemos que es todo un ícono feminista: marca su territorio orgullosamente como los machos – una perrita que sabe que puede ocupar espacio y lo hace con confianza. La adoramos por eso.

Le encantan los cariñitos en la panza y, a pesar de su edad, también disfruta jugar con juguetes. Se lleva muy bien con otros perros, aunque aún no estamos seguras sobre su temperamento con gatos.

Lua ha sido ignorada durante demasiado tiempo. Es gentil, cariñosa, estable y está más que lista para convertirse en la compañera leal de alguien. Si buscas una perrita madura, tranquila y muy dulce, no busques más.
